Compass, Dresses, Lover; Gone

Winter

While Rickie sings of company
I think I’ve met my destiny
I don’t know where I’m coming from
Or whom to blame it on
I’m caught without a charge
With November as guard

I live without my compass now
It always failed to tell me how
To navigate in wintertimes
I’m looking for some signs
All the books I read
Don’t answer my plea

Someone told me once
That my voice gets kinda low
That my eyes grow weary
In the winter when it snows
On my thigh there’s a map of the stars
Someone also told me once
But I can’t see it
It must be gone

I’m in my seventh bath today
I try to soak the cold away
The pizza man is my best friend
We both like number ten
This is how it goes
When the north wind blows

Someone told me once
That my voice gets kinda low
That my eyes grow weary
In the winter when it snows
On my thigh there’s a map of the stars
Someone also told me once
But I can’t see it
It must be gone

Now Rickie sings it home
And leaves me here alone
